Dubai: The Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) Office on Tuesday revealed a colourful calendar of events for the 14th edition of Dubai Shopping Festival - the region's biggest and most successful tourism, shopping and entertainment event.

Beginning on January 15 and lasting till February 15, DSF 2009 will feature a host of world-class events, spectacular shopping promotions and prizes worth millions of dirhams.

Ebrahim Saleh, coordinator general of DSF Office, said: "Every DSF edition is innovative and this has been an instrumental aspect of the phenomenal success witnessed by the event.

"A tremendous amount of effort goes into the planning of every DSF and I would like to thank all government departments and especially the private sector in their endeavour to ensure successful DSF editions and particularly their efforts for DSF 2009."

Visitors to Dubai can now enjoy the best of year-round shopping and entertainment during DSF.

With around 6,000 retail outlets and 40 shopping malls participating, the DSF 2009 promotions are slated to be the best shopping offers designed in a DSF edition yet.

Offers, added value promotions, sales and discounts reaching up to 80 per cent on international brands covering a wide range of consumer goods await shoppers in Dubai.

DSF 2009 will have exciting raffle draws like the The Lexus Mega Raffle and Nissan Grand Raffle. Additionally, the Mashreq Millionaire Raffle on February 10 will give away a whopping Dh4 million, while the Enoc-Eppco Raffle on February 15 will give hand one lucky winner an apartment in Jumeirah Village worth Dh3 million.

The Lexus Mega Raffle has been a stand-out attraction since it was launched in DSF. The opportunity to win luxury cars, coupled with thousands of dirhams in cash, has never been so appealing.

A total of 977 Lexus cars have been given away so far since the first draw was held in 1996.

The 2009 Lexus Mega Raffle will give away two Lexus models, the RX 350 and the ES 350, in addition to 100,000 in cash prizes.

The twist in the raffle is that the 100,000 cash prizes will be dispensed in various currencies in another draw where the winner picks a currency.

Featuring various currencies - ranging from the pound sterling, US dollar, euro, Turkish lira, to the Argentinian pesos and Iranian tomman - each winner could end up taking home cash prizes from Dh300 to a massive Dh700,000. Raffle buyers stand the chance to win prizes worth up to Dh1 million every day.

By simply filling out a coupon received against a purchase, you could be the lucky winner of a brand new Nissan from eight exciting models. Cars to be won in the daily raffle include the Patrol, Armada, Murano, Pathfinder, XTerra, Qashqai, XTrail and the Navara.

On the last day of DSF 2009, 12 lucky winners will take home a brand new Nissan featuring the Qashqai, X-Trail, Altima and the Tiida, bringing the total of Nissan giveaways to 43 cars.

Raffle tickets for the Nissan Grand Raffle are available at all ENOC and Eppco fuel stations, in addition to a host of retail outlets across Dubai.
