- How can we succeed?
Don’t make a resolution. Make a plan. Then stick to it. Carole Holditch, a Dubai-based motivational speaker, said that your resolution is most likely to fail if there is no clear plan accompanying it.
She suggested charting a route map to your goal by answering four questions:
- What do you want to do?
Pick one habit that you want to change. Your resolution should be a practical and small change that you can introduce in your life.
- Why do you want to do it?
Do some deep soul-searching and find out how this change would make your life better.
- Who is going help you achieve these goals?
Do you need your friends, your family or professional help?
- What are you willing to give up?
Factor in the costs of fulfilling the resolution — if you want to lose weight, are you willing to eat less and exercise more often? Or would you eat out only once a week to save money?
