Dubai: Dubai has once again achieved a Guinness World Record title through the Dubai World Hospitality Championship which displayed the world’s highest advert from the top of the Burj Khalifa with a height of 452 metres.

The previous Guinness World Record of the highest advertising in the world was recorded in the US with a height of 310 metres.

Shaikh Mansour Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who attended the opening of the second edition of the championship, received the Guinness World Records record holder certificate on the sidelines of the event.

The three-day championship, running until November 1 at the Dubai World Trade Centre, is being held under the directives of Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince, and is organised by Zabeel Palace Hospitality in cooperation with the World Association of Chefs Societies (WACS) and the Emirates Culinary Guild (ECG).

This step is poised to promote Emirati hospitality and reinforce Dubai’s position as a leading international destination for the hospitality industry.

“This unique and first-of-its-kind advertising is part of our promotional plan to promote DWHC from the top of the Burj Khalifa for the entire world to see, especially that the Burj Khalifa receives around 150,000 visitors from all over the world per month,” said Omar Ameen, member of DWHC organising committee.

Ameen said that since Dubai attracts tourists from across the world, “DWHC is designed to offer an ideal platform to introduce the world to Emirati cooking and hospitality, with focus on the traditional popular dishes that the UAE has been long known for.”

The championship this year managed to attract more than 25,000 visitors on the first day.
