IF IT’S YOUR BIRTHDAY TODAY

While you understand the importance of taking things slowly, especially when getting to know interesting people, embracing new ideas or exploring exciting but unknown territory, you’ll be tempting to plunge in. Do so in terms of investigation; this is the best way to learn. But when it comes to expressing your enthusiasm or making commitments, try to rein yourself in. Otherwise you could commit too swiftly and unwittingly restrict your options.

Aries (March 20 – April 18)

This is an exciting time, although you’re focusing more on the difficulties you’re facing than on what’s good. While it’s essential you deal with those tricky matters, not all of them are pressing. Tackle those that are urgent, then shift your focus to the thrilling developments coming your way.

Taurus (April 19 – May 19)

After the rather tricky month of September, with its two eclipses and the retrograde Mercury confusing matters, things will be a lot less complicated. Do not, however, imagine that you can ignore certain alterations in your own life. These may be disruptive but, as you’re already well aware, they’re necessary.

Gemini (May 20 – June 19)

It may seem that over the past couple of months you’ve done little but deal with practical, domestic or career issues. That’s no surprise. After all, your ruler Mercury has accented these since late July and was retrograde for much of September. Endless as this seems, tackle any remaining details now.

Cancer (June 20 – July 21)

Each New Moon triggers a very distinct stillness, although with so much going on, you won’t necessarily have sensed the influence of last Saturday’s. However, there’s plenty of time to take advantage of the fresh perspective, on arrangements and your own life, that it’s brought your way.

Leo (July 22 – August 21)

By no means are you lazy. Being a fire sign, when you’re determined to do or achieve something, you’re both fearless and tireless. Yet one particular sort of situation exhausts you, and that’s anything that’s about details, and nothing more. However, that’s what you’re facing. And it won’t go away.

Virgo (August 22 – September 21)

Although your ruler Mercury’s retrograde cycle ended on September 22, you’re still untangling confused situations and misunderstandings. Tempting as it is to deal with these swiftly, those that remain are more complex than those you’ve already put to rest, and so are likely to require serious questioning and considerable discussion.

Libra (September 22 – October 21)

Every sign was influenced by the recent New Moon, but because it was in Libra you’ll have been conscious that one cycle was ending as another began. You may even have started to declutter your thinking, diary and life. If not, there’s no better time than the present.

Scorpio (October 22 – November 20)

Obviously, making decisions when you’re short of facts or, worse, unclear about your priorities isn’t easy. But circumstances demand that you take a stand on certain arrangements, if not commit to a plan now, despite a very real lack of information. Get involved, but conditionally, making it clear your views could change.

Sagittarius (November 21 – December 20)

Exciting as the ideas or offers triggered by last week’s encounter between the Sun and your ruler Jupiter were, they’re the beginning of a series of promising developments. Pursue these, remembering they may be about who you meet or new ideas rather than anything lasting. Bear in mind, there’s more to come.

Capricorn (December 21 – January 19)

Last Tuesday the planet of ego and energy, Mars, moved into Capricorn for a six-week stay. During this period you’ll review what you’re happy with, what you’re not. And you may act impulsively, in a manner that seems out of character. Actually this cycle is all about exactly that variety of experimentation.

Aquarius (January 20 – February 18)

Watching familiar and, possibly, much cherished elements of your life come undone isn’t easy. Yet you sense they’ve outlived their time. The problem is, you’ve no idea what’s next, which for you, as an inquisitive Aquarius, is unusual. Actually it’s forcing you to broaden your horizons, which is no bad thing.

Pisces (February 19 – March 19)

Being generous by nature, you’ll happily do what you can for others, and without expecting anything in return. Yet you’re now recognising somebody has been taking advantage of your good nature, and are both disillusioned and angry. Say that. But bear in mind that, to them, such selfishness is absolutely normal.
