Dubai: In order to invite public participation in crucial public health strategy decisions, the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) has invited suggestions from the public in order to draft a patient-centric Dubai Health Strategy which will be applicable from 2021 and updated regularly.

In the third phase of the stakeholder engagement initiative the DHA made a request to members of the public to write to the Authority through its Twitter page (DHA_Dubai) and to use the hashtag #DHAFuture.

In the first phase, DHA employees provided their ideas and suggested initiatives via on online forum. In phase two, the consultation programme included 90 members of the public and private health sector.

Humaid Al Qutami, Chairman of the Board of the DHA, said: “The idea behind this extensive stakeholder engagement is to prepare a strategy that fulfils the needs of all stakeholders — the public, medical professionals, health-care facilities, investors, etc. Seeking feedback and suggestions from the public is an essential part of this initiative because ultimately we serve the health-care needs of our population and this initiative aims to understand their viewpoints so that we can formulate patient-centric solutions on the basis of which the policies could be drafted.”
