Dubai: Hani Ghorayeb, the chief operating officer at AMS-Choueiri Group, has been re-elected IAA UAE chapter president for a second term. Also taking their place alongside him are 14 members of the Board, including three “officer” positions.

These are Douglas Palau, CEO of BKP Media Group, who assumes the dual positions of vice-president and treasurer; and Sasan Saeidi, Managing Director at FP7-UAE who is the general secretary.

“The 2016-18 IAA UAE Board will continue to focus on inspiring and empowering the talented young professionals within our industry and building stronger collaboration between clients, media, MBUs (media buying units) and agencies, with the aim of advancing standards and growth prospects for the entire industry,” said Ghorayeb.

Among the Board members are Asad ur Rehman, Director Media (North Africa & Middle East) at Unilever; Chadi Farhat, Group Head of Investments, OmnicomMediaGroup MENA; Mohan Nambiar, CEO of MEC; Nabil Moutran, Regional Director of OgilvyOne MENA; Rajeev Khanna, Commercial Director at Gulf News; Talal Shaikh Elard, Managing Director of Impact BBDO Dubai; and Yousuf Tuqan Tuqan, Vice-President, Brand Marketing and Loyalty, Jumeirah Group.

The IAA UAE Chapter is one of the largest in the world and represents all perspectives of the marketing and communications industry — media, clients and agencies.

The new Board’s mission is to “support the case for communication and advertising in the region, helping to expand best practice and in turn effect a positive impact on the UAE economy”, it said in a statement.
