UAE chef competes in Taste of Waldorf Astoria 2017

Beverly Hills: At the newly opened Waldorf Astoria in Beverly Hills, the mood is quite competitive. Chefs from around the globe have come together to find the best 'Fifth Hour' menu addition, which should ideally comprise of two paired bar bites and two beverages. The host property in Beverly Hills, with over 170 rooms, opened up on June 1 and features opulent rooms and internationally renowned restaurants.

 

With just one day until the competition, the #TasteofWaldorf chefs and James Beard Foundation Rising Stars return to the kitchen, and turn their focus to the finishing touches.

Five James Beard Rising Star semi-finalists have been paired up with master chefs from various Waldorf properties for the competition.

The UAE has two attendees on the list. Rudolf Segers, Executive Chef of the Waldorf Astoria property in Ras Al Khaimah, is competing alongside Maximillian Petty while the Assistant F&B manager, Giovanni Bavajee, is also representing the RAK property.
