1. At.Mopsphere

Atmosphere

There’s a new menu at Level 122, At.mosphere Restaurant in Burj Khalifa. Ingredients inspired from the natural beauty and purity of garden produce, their new seasonal menus are made with the best of the best. We literally started our day on a high, by trying the new breakfast menu at At.mosphere.  Once you get past the incredible view of Dubai, you get an amazing 3 course menu which includes pastries and cheese, coldcuts, muesli and fruit from the continental stand. Then you can choose a main course from classic choices such as waffles, French toast, sweet and savoury crepes and their delicious stuffed omelets. There are additional options, known as the signature dishes, which include truffle scrambled eggs and slow cooked beef fillet with organic eggs. An a la carte menu is also available to allow guests to select individual favourites from a wide selection of hot dishes. We couldn’t stop looking out of the floor to ceiling windows as we sipped on our green tea and enjoyed some delicious pain au chocolat. The new At.mosphere dining occasion will extend a relaxed welcome for all, including children.

2. Dragonfly

Dragonfly Dubai

This brand new contemporary Asian restaurant has just opened its doors. With two-Michelin-star chef Tim Raue’s culinary masterpieces in tow, Dragonfly, a contemporary Asian restaurant offers unique food with rich flavours and sophisticated textures. This venture is Chef Raue’s first foray outside of Germany. Dragonfly’s fare will definitely cast a culinary spell with a distinct, delicious and delightful dining experience, set right in the heart of Dubai’s urban living destination at City Walk in the city’s vibrant downtown district. Dragonfly stands out because the new eatery does not shy from experimenting with flavours, serving up zestful and zingy recreations of Asian staples. Embracing a modern approach to traditional Asian cooking, its blend of unusual flavours and rare ingredients will be a welcome addition to the city’s vibrant and flourishing food scene. We started the night off with some cold snacks followed by the winner of the night, the Wasabi Langoustine. It was a roller-coaster of textures and flavours that incorporates hot and cold; sweet, sour and spicy; crispy, smooth and tender. Followed by a turbot fish with Kamebishi, Leek and Ginger. It was a hearty and healthy main course in which a perfect cut of turbot was accompanied by leek, young pickled slices of ginger and Kamebishi soysauce. We also tried Peking duck three ways. Instead of just using the crispy duck skin like most people do, at Dragonfly they use a whole duck instead. The first way is a dish with roasted duck breast and crispy skin, leek, green apple and a sauce made with duck feet; the second way was a hot stock made from the legs and bones of the duck and flavoured by winter melon, bamboo mushroom, duck gizzards and duck hearts. It was delicious. The third, was a cold mousse of Foie Gras served with barbeque sauce, pickled cucumber as well as a leek and ginger puree.  We finished off the meal with a mango tapioca sauce infused with passionfruit seeds, topped with vanilla ice cream and meringue. Dragonfly opens this week a must try.
