Ajman: About 245 new students were initiated into a career in medicine at the Gulf Medical University (GMU), Ajman, in a white coat ceremony organised at their campus on Sunday.

Congratulating the new batch, Professor Gita Ashok Raj, the provost of GMU, inspired the students to follow diversity of thoughts, values and communication skills to be able to excel in their course. She also administered the GMU Honour Code followed by the White Coat Conferral on the students.

The Founder President of Gulf Medical University, Thumbay Moideen, the Provost and faculty members of the university welcomed a total of 245 newly admitted students to the MBBS, BPT, DMD, PHARM D, BBMS and BHS programmes and conferred the ‘white coats’ as a symbol of their entry into their chosen professions.

The ceremony was honoured by the presence of the chief guest, Shaikh Ammar Bin Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman, along with Guest of Honour Shaikh Dr Majid Bin Saeed Al Nuaimi, Chairman, Ruler’s Court, Ajman.
