Abu Dhabi: Five people have been issued warnings to remove satellite dishes from building rooftops, the Municipality of Abu Dhabi City announced in a statement sent today (October 11).

The violations were detected in the capital’s Al Wathba suburb during a municipal inspection that covered 114 commercial buildings.

The municipality has instructed the violators to remove the devices within the set grace period to avoid legal action. The statement added that the majority of establishments were in compliance with the applicable municipal regulations.

In Abu Dhabi city, installing satellite dish antennas on balconies or garden walls is illegal. In addition, each building can only have a maximum of four central satellite dishes. Building facades also cannot sport antenna connection cables, and all installed antennas have to be regularly maintained.
