Al Ain: The General Command of the UAE Armed Forces on Wednesday marked the graduation of the fifth batch of National Service trainees and celebrated the 40th anniversary of the Armed Forces unification.

The ceremony held at Seeh Al Hama Training Centre in Al Ain was attended by Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince, Shaikh Maktoum Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Shaikh Hazza Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council, and Mohammad Ahmad Al Bawardi, Minister of State for Defence Affairs.

Shaikh Hamdan honoured the top graduates, and expressed his satisfaction and pride in the military discipline and skills displayed by the youth, who he described as men who are able to shoulder the responsibility of defending and safeguarding the nation.

Shaikh Hamdan congratulated the graduates and urged them to continue training and honing their abilities, and to benefit from the expertise of their Armed Forces’ leaders and fellow officers.

Shaikh Hazza later attended a military parade by the new graduates which reflected their combat preparedness and abilities.

Also present at the graduation ceremony were Lieutenant General Hamad Mohammad Thani Al Rumaithi, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, and a number of senior Armed Forces officials.
