Dubai: If you missed the awesome lights-and-sound show that marked by the opening of Dubai Water Canal on Wednesday night, you can still catch it here.

On Thursday, Day 1 after the opening, we’ve taken a quick daytime tour on board a ferry operated by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) that connects all the station along the new iconic waterway.

And here's what we can tell you: For one, this pleasure boat ride offers an entirely different perspective of Dubai, a whole new visual treat on a ground-breaking extension of the picturesque Dubai Creek.

And thanks to this signature project that has altered the map of the emirate, it is now possible to view both the old and new Dubai — the Bastakiya/Shindagha district as well as downtown Burj Khalifa — in a single boat dream ride.

We found the fares quite reasonable, too.

These are some of the sights and sounds we picked up from the short ferry ride we took on Thursday.

Why don't you hop in and explore this exciting new route with us!

Here’s our ferry ride on the Dubai Water Canal.
