Dubai: Ramco Systems, a software company, said on Wednesday it has signed its biggest Middle East aviation contract ever in a three year tie-up with Abu Dhabi-based Falcon Aviation Services (FAS).

FAS operates VVIP business jet and helicopter charter flights and offers maintenance and repair services.

The undisclosed sum contract will see Ramco Aviation replace five software programmes with a single system, said Virender Aggarwal, CEO of Ramco Systems in a phone interview.

The new software system will include covering payroll, human resources, and maintenance and flight operations.

Ismael Mahmoud, Chief Operating Officer at FAS, speaking by phone, said the new software is expected to streamline efficiency after previous programmes were unable to “communicate” with each other.

The new software will go live in six months, Aggarwal said, with FAS set to integrate smart watches into their operations as part of the contract. However, FAS could also one day be using Google Glass after Aggarwal said Ramco is in the testing stage of the wearable device.

The three-year contract covers support, training and programme upgrades.
