Sharjah: A 25-year-old Pakistani man lost control of his car because of an epileptic seizure and crashed into a lamppost in Al Zahra Road in Sharjah, a Sharjah Police official told Gulf News.

The Police operation room received call on Sunday morning around 11.15 am reporting the incident.

Police said the man, identified as K.A.A, was driving without a license.

He suffered a spinal fracture and was admitted to the orthopaedic section at Al Kuwaiti hospital for treatment.

The man was accompanied by a 37-year-old woman who is in the UAE on a visit visa. She suffered minor injuries and was discharged from hospital after being treated.

Police investigations are ongoing.

Meanwhile, a 21-year-old Emirati motorist died after his car hit a lamppost in Sharjah Airport Road on Saturday.

According to Police the victim was driving at a high speed and lost control of his vehicle.

He died on the spot, and his body was moved to Al Qassimi hospital before being handed over to his family for burial.
