Dubai: The 18-year old Emirati Mohammad Sultan Khalfan Al Yahyee, awaiting a new heart in India’s Fortis Mallar Hospital Chennai, continues to be critical, according to the latest update issued on him through the hospital bulletin.

Al Yahyee who suffers from a congenital heart condition underwent a heart transplant in another hospital in India last year which subsequently failed and he was admitted under the care of Dr K.R. Balakrishnan in January at the Chennai-based Fortis Hospital.

According to the medical bulletin issued on Wednesday, that updates on Yahyee’s condition until that day, he suffered an intracerebral haemorrhage and was put on ventilator support.

He is not neurologically stable and cardiac surgeons have informed the family of the poor prognosis on the patient. In the condition that he is in, any surgery has been deferred, said the bulletin.
