Dubai: An Emirati man has struck it rich twice in three days at the Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) after winning a weekly prize and a daily prize both worth about Dh600, 000.

The 20th edition of DSF has changed the life of Ali Mohammad, a government employee, who first won on January 16 the Infiniti mega raffle’s weekly prize of Dh100,000 in cash and then went on to win the Dh500,000 daily prize consisting of two Infiniti cars — QX60 and Q50 — and Dh100,000 in cash on January 18.

Mohammad is the first to hit the lucky trail twice this DSF. He said he has been participating for the past 18 years but never won anything.

“I participate in DSF raffles every year but I never won anything. When I received the call for the first win, I was with a friend and was in complete disbelief. When I received the call the second time round, I was shocked. I purchased the two tickets from the same place each time, from the Enoc/Eppco petrol station near Al Wasl Club in Oud Metha. I couldn’t sleep the whole night — I could barely believe what was happening to me,” said Mohammad. Mohammad said he plans to buy more raffle tickets until the end of DSF in the hope of getting lucky one more time.

As a DSF surprise for all residents and visitors, it was announced that shoppers will now receive a bonus Nissan Grand Raffle coupon with every purchase of an Infiniti Mega Raffle coupon until the end of DSF 2015, which is on February 1.

With the Nissan Grand Raffle, participants can win a Nissan car every day and a Nissan Patrol every week.

The Infiniti Mega Raffle offers DSF shoppers the opportunity to take home a prize worth Dh500,000 each day of the festival until February 1. Shoppers can purchase the Infiniti Mega Raffle ticket for just Dh200 at select Enoc and Eppco petrol stations, Global Village, Gold Souq and on main streets.

As a special gesture in celebration of the DSF’s 20th anniversary, shoppers participating in the Infiniti Mega Raffle will get a second chance to win over Dh2 million in additional prizes that will be up for grabs at weekly raffle draws.
