Dubai: Officials have unveiled a calendar of events and activities for the Eid in Dubai: Eid Al Fitr promotion and Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS).
Eid in Dubai promotions will cover Eid Al Fitr and the two days after Eid.
Eid Al Fitr this year is likely to fall on July 28 or 29, which means the promotion will run until July 30 or 31.
Shoppers will be eligible to enter a raffle if they spend Dh200 at any of the participating malls across the Ramadan and Eid season.
DSS, meanwhile, will run August 2 to September 5, with world premieres of children’s shows planned alongside concerts, fireworks and other attractions.

The line-up was announced on Sunday by Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE).
The celebrations include the premieres of the Angry Birds Universe Interactive Experience, the Decepticlone Transformers Show and the Skylanders Spyros’s Adventure.
Visitors during Eid in Dubai will be able to watch Arab stars perform at the Layali Dubai concerts and fireworks displays.
Also, the chance to win up to Dh4 million in prizes is up for grabs at the mega summer promotion.
Eid in Dubai, now in its seventh year, is a DFRE initiative aimed at “showcasing Islamic values and Emirati traditions during Eid Al Fitr and Eid Al Adha.”
DSS, meanwhile, was launched in 1998 to position Dubai as a summer destination of choice.
DFRE CEO Laila Suhail said this year’s celebrations are “quite unique because of the world premieres that we have brought to Dubai in partnership with international licensors of entertainment characters… The Eid in Dubai slogan ‘United in Celebration’ will resonate across the city, in a true manifestation of Dubai’s multicultural setting and spirit.”
“DFRE is confident initiatives such as Eid in Dubai and DSS will contribute towards retail and tourism growth, and fits well into Dubai’s Tourism Vision 2020, aimed at increasing tourism arrivals to 20 million by 2020,” she added.
