ABU DHABI: Abdul Fattah Al Sissi, President of Egypt, arrived in Abu Dhabi on Thursday in a two-day visit to the UAE, during which he will attend the country’s 45th National Day celebrations.

He was received at the Presidential Airport by His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

President Al Sissi was accorded an official reception, where the national anthems of both countries were played, followed by a 21-gun salute to honour the guest.

The Egyptian president then shook hands with the Shaikhs and senior officials, while Shaikh Mohammad greeted the Egyptian officials accompanying Al Sissi.

Also receiving Al Sissi at the airport were Dr Amal Abdullah Al Qubaisi, Speaker of Federal National Council; Shaikh Tahnoun Bin Mohammad Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Ruler’s Representative in the Eastern Region; Shaikh Surour Bin Mohammad Al Nahyan; Shaikh Hazza Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council; Lt-General Shaikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior; Shaikh Tahnoun Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Adviser; Shaikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs; and Shaikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
