Dubai: Two men have been accused of luring a jobseeker into their car and raping her before they allegedly assaulted and tasered her.

The Filipina had just resigned from a company where she worked as a receptionist, according to records, and posted her contact details on the internet in May 2015 when the incident happened.

The Pakistani suspects, 32-year-old S.N. and 30-year-old M.M., allegedly contacted the Filipina as potential employers and talked her into meeting them at Bur Juman Metro station.

The duo picked her up after claiming that they wanted to take her to the company where they had promised her employment. The two men drove to a remote area where they beat the woman, threatened to kill her and used a taser gun on her before they raped her inside the car.

Despite the brutal attack, the woman, who was tied with belts, fought back. She punched S.N. in his face and kicked M.M. while they abused her, said records.

S.N. had stopped at a roadside to use the bathroom, when the Filipina outsmarted M.M. and convinced him that she would allow him to have sex with her if he untied her, said records.

Once M.M. removed the belts used to tie her up, she kicked him, jumped out of the vehicle and escaped.

Prosecutors accused S.N. and M.M. of kidnapping, raping and threatening to kill the Filipina and possessing a taser gun.

The duo pleaded not guilty and refuted the charges at the Dubai Court of First Instance on Monday.

In August, the Dubai Cassation Court handed the two defendants an irrevocable 10-year imprisonment for involvement in another kidnap and rape case.

Prosecutors said the suspects used deceptive methods when they kidnapped the woman. They were also charged with stealing her iPhone, bank cards, cash and a gold ring.

The duo also threatened to kill her if she did not stop resisting and shouting during the sex assault.

The Filipina testified to prosecutors that someone phoned her for a job interview at 4pm. “I was waiting at the metro station when one of the suspects called me and told me to wait outside the station as he was about to pick me up. When I walked outside, I received a phone call from the Philippines … I was busy on the phone when I heard someone call my name. Obviously they [suspects] recognised me because I had posted my CV and photo on dubizzle for the purpose of getting hired. When I asked them why we had been driving for 15 minutes, one of them replied that they were taking me to the company. M.M. suddenly moved to the back seat … he groped me and asked if I go clubbing and drink liquor. Then he took away my phone and tried to touch me … I fought with him and punched him. He tasered me several times … he beat me and bit me. I banged the windows to attract pedestrians’ attention to seek help, but I failed. The defendants assaulted me and they took turns raping me,” she claimed to prosecutors.
