Dubai: Emergency authorities will test response time during a mock exercise to be held on Thursday at the metro station in Terminal three of Dubai International Airport, Dubai Police announced.

Dubai Police said the drill will be conducted in the evening, with the participation of Dubai Civil Defence, Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services (DCAS), Traffic Safety department, and the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).

The exercise is aimed at raising readiness to face and deal with contingencies and crisis that might occur.

During operational testing, participating teams will respond to the incident to save injured people and quickly evacuate them from the building. They said they will then evaluate the experiment to see how rapidly they responded to the incident and how ready they were to deal with it.

Another mock exercise will be of an accident between two vehicles, which will be carried out next to a metro station in Deira. The teams from the participating entities will have to also respond to the incident swiftly. They said it will help determine the readiness of these competent teams to deal with emergency situations.

The exercises will be in accordance with the highest international standards, they said, and will give the teams confidence in taking the right decisions when such accidents occur.
