Dubai: Shaikh Maktoum Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and First Deputy Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, yesterday chaired a Dubai Executive Council meeting.

Shaikh Maktoum instructed members of the council to facilitate governmental procedures for customers, and stressed the importance of taking into consideration the needs of the customer in order to increase the competitiveness of Dubai, which can be accomplished by activating a series of performance-enhancing mechanisms to achieve the desired results.

The council discussed the projects and strategies of its affiliated committees, such as the infrastructure and environment committee, the social development committee and health and safety committee.

The council reviewed the strategic plan of the Department of Dubai Smart Government, including the department’s performance, initiatives and key strategies, as well as its plans to implement projects that include a host of smart initiatives that are in line with the Dubai Government’s approach.

The department also conducted a number of strategic studies on the best federal and local initiatives, comparing them to global ones.
