The tagline says it all: Abhimanigale nam mane devru (fans are our Gods).

Kannada film Doddmane Huduga is Puneeth Rajkumar’s 25th film and directed by Soori, popularly known as Duniya Soori after his successful debut film Duniya.

Soori says that it’s a commercial story, one made exclusively for Rajkumar’s fans.

Rajkumar plays Surya, a biryani vendor in Hubli. He is paired opposite Radhika Pandit, a leading Kannada star.

Pandit is Nisha, the daughter of a criminal lawyer. She appears in two looks: a modern woman who is playing a role in a drama, and a village belle.

Veteran actor Ambareesh plays Doddmane Rajeeva, a much-respected farmer in the village of Mandya. Ravishankar plays the baddie. He is Cable Babu, a goon running a real-estate mafia and is resisted by Rajeeva.

Soori, who has written the story, adds that there is a revenge plot with a family reunion woven into the script.

“Fans will not be disappointed,” says Soori whose next whose next two projects are Kaage Bangara and Black Magic. While the former is a love story, the latter is a story centred around a bar and brothel.
