Dubai: Dubai Financial Market said on Sunday it has decided to include Amanat and Dubai Parks to its general index (DFMGI) from January 19, taking the total listed companies to 34.

Amanat had 2.5 billion outstanding shares, while the percentage of free float shares as per the index rules is 75 per cent, and number of shares embedded in the index sample is 1.875 billion shares. Shares of Amanat have been added to the DFM General Index and Services subindex.

Shares of Dubai Parks have also been added to DFM General Index and Consumer Staples & Discretionary subindex. The outstanding shares for the company is 6.322 billion shares, while the percentage of free float shares as per index rules is 50 per cent, and number of shares embedded in the index sample is 3.161 billion shares.

Currently, Emaar Properties has the highest weightage on the index followed by Dubai Islamic Bank.

Amanat ended 1.27 per cent higher in trade at Dh0.80, while shares of Dubai Parks and Resorts also ended 2.68 per cent at Dh0.729, in a firm Dubai market.

The DFM General Index ended 1.48 per cent at 3,899.53.
