Dubai: Shaikh Maktoum Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Technology and Media Free Zone Authority, yesterday chaired the Dubai Media Incorporated meeting.

During the meeting, the board discussed DMI’s plans pertaining to improving the performance and programmes of its TV channels for the coming period during the Holy Month of Ramadan.

Shaikh Maktoum pointed out the importance of broadcasting during Ramadan a wide range of programmes that are in line with the values of a Muslim Arab society.

The board also discussed a number of topics and proposals submitted by its members that aim to achieve the goals and objectives of DMI in developing the local and regional media scene in a way that reflects the development achieved by the UAE in general, and Dubai in particular.

Shaikh Maktoum stressed the importance of utilising all national capabilities, and working as a team to activate the role of DMI on the media, social and humanitarian level, and as a channel of communication between government departments and the public. He said that this also includes portraying in a transparent manner the UAE’s civilised image for viewers abroad.
