Dubai: Coca-Cola’s Middle East operation has been named ‘Advertiser of the Year’ by Dubai Lynx.

“As a global brand, Coca-Cola are renowned for their innovation and creative communications,” said Terry Savage, chairman at Cannes Lions and Dubai Lynx. “Coca-Cola Middle East have embodied this spirit and made it relevant to their local audience with messages that resonate far beyond just the Mena region.”

During the last three years, the beverage giant picked up 42 awards at the Dubai Lynx Festival, including three Grand Prix this year. This was for the ‘Dark Iftar’ campaign, which won an Interactive Grand Prix, a Gold Media Lynx Award and Bronze Lynx Award in Integrated, Media and PR for a total of six honours. There was also a Bronze Promo & Activation Lion at the 2016 Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.

“We always challenge ourselves to enhance the way our brands connect with consumers, leveraging both global and local insights,” said Tolga Cebe, regional marketing director at the beverage company. “This award is a wonderful recognition for Coca-Cola and our agencies here in the region.”

The award will be handed out during the next Dubai Lynx event, from March 5-7. There will also be special awards for Agency of the Year, Media Agency of the Year, Independent Agency of the Year, Network of the Year, Advertising Person of the Year and the Lynx Palm Award.
