Ras Al Khaimah: Major-General Ali Abdullah Bin Alwan Al Nuaimi, Commander-in-Chief of Ras Al Khaimah Police, has announced the launch of the first venture capital fund in the field of “policing and technological security” in the Arab region.
Major-General Al Nuaimi said the fund supports the strategy of the UAE to explore the future and its vital sectors, and enhance its stature as a future destination through smart transformation in various areas of work and daily life.
“The vision of the Crown Prince [Shaikh Mohammad Bin Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi] is consistent with the vision of the government in its foresight for vital sectors such as technological security, economy, economic and commercial security as well as science, technology and innovation. [This will be achieved] through the engagement of all forward-looking tools that assist government agencies to anticipate opportunities, trends and challenges, and analyse their future implications.
“As there is an increase in the networks of organised crime and multiple security risks thereof, [there is a need to] develop innovative solutions by taking advantage of the scientific and technological innovations,” the police chief added.
He pointed out the significance of the investment fund for policing and security work. The fund will yield its fruits in the long term, he said, by supporting a road map to maximise and help make the most of capacities and capabilities to keep pace with future developments in the global, regional and local arena.
The fund will aid in making progress in the field of super-smart technology, including police virtual centres, super-smart services, drones for surveillance and security, artificial smart technology and robot, future crimes lab, big data, and smart coherence and integration of smart cities.
The police chief stressed that there is a strong and direct support for the Fund from the Ras Al Khaimah Government — and is in cooperation and coordination with the Ministry of Interior.
The fund will enhance leadership in the field of technological security, and will be a new and distinctive achievement added to the many achievements of RAK Police, in alignment with the Ministry of Interior’s vision to make the UAE one of the best countries of the world in security and safety, he said.
