Starting 2018 you can travel to Baku directly from Abu Dhabi aboard Etihad Airways new flights to the Azerbaijani capital. Flights to the new route are set to launch on March 2, 2018 and are the result of a surge in UAE nationals travelling to Azerbaijan since the country issued a visa waiver in November 2015. The service will be operated three times a week using a 136-seat Airbus A320 every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.
