Dubai: Rohingya Muslims' plight continues as they suffer persecution in Myanmar.

The hardships of Rohingya refugees worsen by the day, and in a bid to highlight their struggle, a touching photo has been shared by Princess Haya Bint Al Hussain, wife of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

On her official Instagram account, Princess Haya posted a photograph of a mother holding her young child in her arms, as they wade through the waters.

Over the past week alone, more than twenty thousand Rohingya have fled brutal persecution in Myanmar -- their homes burned, many brutally beaten, family members murdered. HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum generously created an open air bridge which continues to deliver humanitarian items to those who need it most. But this is not enough! The UN and global powers must stop this ethnic cleansing now or thousands more will surely die in the weeks ahead. Each day they wait, more lives are lost. #Rohingya

The photograph was accompanied with the caption: “Over the past week alone, more than twenty thousand Rohingya have fled brutal persecution in Myanmar -- their homes burned, many brutally beaten, family members murdered.

"Shakh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum generously created an open air bridge which continues to deliver humanitarian items to those who need it most. But this is not enough! According to the United Nations, more than 500,000 Rohingya refugees have crossed into Cox’s Bazar region of neighbouring Bangladesh since August 25, following what the UN and many independent human rights organisations called ethnic cleansing.

His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, also took to social media to share Princess Haya’s message to his Instagram followers.

The UAE is always committed to humanitarian causes, and in its latest course of action, recently set up an air bridge to provide critical relief supplies to Rohingya refugees fleeing violence in Myanmar.

Swift and timely transfer of aid is crucial in the harsh lives of Rohingya refugees. Every minute counts! As the crisis sadly deteriorates, HH Sheikh Mohammad generously offered his private plane to deliver much needed humanitarian aid as part of the emergency airlift bridge HH recently created. Three more airlifts went out from International Humanitarian City (IHC) on October 11th, 13th and 15th bringing the total number of airlifts to 6 so far. Each one contained a full load of urgent core relief items provided by @ihc_uae members and partners @international_federation @unhcr_arabic @WHO @Emiratesrc @unmigration @doctorswithoutborders @shelterboxuk and @solidaritesinternational #HumanitarianAid #Rohingya #RefugeeCrisis

Shaikh Mohammad also sanctioned the use of his private 747 aeroplane with additional air transport C130s and 757s as needed.

Shaikh Mohammad had previously ordered two Boeing 747 airlifts to Bangladesh on September 12 and 26, to deliver substantial humanitarian supplies provided by the UN Refugee Agency.
