Abu Dhabi: The sky will be partly cloudy to cloudy on the coast in the UAE over the weekend, with rain forecast for Sunday and Monday.
“In the five-day forecast issued on Thursday, the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) said temperatures will tend to rise on Thursday, with a gradual increase in cloud cover, particularly at night, over the coast and islands. Light rain is likely.

Winds are expected to be light to moderate at times with speeds of 18-28km/h, reaching 38km/h over the sea.

On Friday, it said, it will be partly cloudy to cloudy at times, while some light rain may fall in northern areas of the country. Winds are expected to be light to moderate at times, with speeds of 18-30km/h, reaching 40km/h over the sea.

The Arabian Gulf will be moderate while the Gulf of Oman will be light to moderate.

The weather on Saturday is expected to be partly cloudy to cloudy, with cloud cover increasing in some areas, especially on the coast and in northern areas, with light to moderate rain, especially at night. Winds will become moderate, freshening at times, with increased cloud cover over the sea and exposed areas, leading to the movement of dust at times.

Wind speeds are expected to be 20-35km/h, reaching 45km/h over the sea, which will continue to be moderate to rough.

Unstable weather is forecast for Sunday, with the amount of cloud cover increasing in some scattered areas. Convective clouds of varying amounts can be expected with frequent rain. Winds are expected to be moderate to fresh at times, especially over the sea and in exposed areas, kicking up dust at times.

Wind speeds of 20-35km/h are expected, reaching 45km/h over the sea, which will become rough.

On Monday, the weather will be cloudy to partly cloudy during the day. Northern and eastern areas will continue to get rain. The amount of cloud will decrease gradually by evening and during the night, with moderate to fresh winds at times especially over the sea and in exposed areas, causing blowing dust at times. Wind speeds are expected to be 20-35km/h, reaching 45km/h over the sea.

Both the Arabian Gulf and Gulf of Oman are expected to be rough, the NCM said.
