Abu Dhabi: The UAE Central Bank will soon release Dh100 and Dh50 bank notes that have been reprinted and written in Braille to enable visually impaired people to recognise the value of the currency.

The move is part of the bank’s endeavours to enable visually impaired people to have access to banking services, just like others.

The central bank will release the Braille notes on Monday. They will be distributed to banks as per the procedures followed by the central bank.

Braille is engraved on the right and left edges of the notes, which have similar design and other specifications of the regular notes.
