Dubai: Motorists faced heavy delays on Thursday after multiple accidents broke out on a number of busy roads in Dubai.

Commuters from Sharjah to Dubai were the first ones to face tailbacks of traffic when an accident was reported on Emirates Road near the Al Khawaneej exit.

Dubai Police urged motorists to drive carefully and to take alternative routes.

Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed (MBZ) Road also faced traffic jams from Sharjah to Dubai, especially after the airport intersection at Rashidiya when an accident happened on the popular highway, Abu Dhabi bound.

Another accident on MBZ Road added further traffic chaos to the morning rush-hour after an accident was reported near the Ras Al Khor Road interchange towards Abu Dhabi.

Drivers also faced traffic snarls near Al Barsha after an accident was reported on Hessa Street in the direction toward Shaikh Zayed road, causing further tailbacks.
