Dubai: A businessman is accused of cursing, slapping and threatening to kill his female business partner and exposing himself in front of her.
The 54-year-old Indian businessman allegedly sent a slanderous email to his countrywoman partner and threatened to kill her if she ended their business partnership in November 2015.
The man also walked towards her office, according to records, where he stood in front of the door, pulled his pants down and flashed his private parts.
Prosecutors accused the suspect of assaulting his partner, cursing her, threatening to kill her and acting lewdly in front of her and other colleagues.
The suspect pleaded refuted all accusations when he appeared before the Dubai Court of First Instance on Monday.
According to the charge sheet, prosecutors said the suspect abused the telecommunication system and sent a libellous email to his partner. He also threatened to kill her, slapped her and exposed himself in front of her.
“No. I did not do that. There is a partnership issue between us and that is why she lodged her complaint out of malice,” the businessman argued before presiding judge Urfan Omar.
The Indian woman testified to prosecutors that she and the defendant are business partners in a company.
“He cursed me via email and threatened to kill me if I ended the partnership. He also stood before me and removed his pants, and flashed his private parts. He slapped me because we had administrative differences,” she claimed to prosecutors.
The company’s sales manager testified to prosecutors that she saw the defendant undressing himself before the partner’s office and standing naked.
“The businessman constantly created problems for the woman. I heard him threatening to kill her in case she did not allow him to sign on the business cheques,” she told prosecutors.
The woman’s lawyer handed the presiding judge a copy of a civil petition that he has lodged against the suspect and in which she is seeking Dh21,000 in temporary compensation.
