Abu Dhabi: About 115 Indian amnesty seekers availed themselves of the free air tickets offered by Indian community organisations in Abu Dhabi, said a member of the special committee constituted for the purpose.
"About 105 people left the country as of yesterday and the rest of the people are leaving today and tomorrow," said Dawood Haji from Indian Islamic Centre in Abu Dhabi. "The special committee of the organisation is meeting today to consider about 100 more applications."
Meanwhile 165 Indian amnesty seekers left the country from Dubai yesterday on an Air Indian Express flight chartered by a prominent social organisation, Kerala Muslim Cultural Centre (KMCC). The tickets were sponsored by businessman Abdul Rahim Abdullah Hussain Al Khoori and three other corporate groups according to a KMCC statement.
