Expansion project to add more attractions as appeal for destination grows both at home and abroad
Dubai: Yas Island is positioning itself as an all-inclusive leisure and entertainment destination. At the Arabian Travel Market tour operators and travel agents were introduced to Yas Island as an all-encompassing leisure and entertainment destination.
The Yas Island stand in the Tourism and Culture Authority Abu Dhabi stand, showcased the growing appeal of the destination both within the region and further abroad.
“With more and more attractions being developed, each of the stakeholders recognise the importance of reinforcing Yas Island as an all-encompassing destination”, says Karim Al Guanaini, vice-president, Yas Island Destination Management.
“When on business, vacation, or a quick getaway, it is rare that you visit just one attraction, rather it is the combination of attractions and the connectivity between each, which greatly enhances the overall experience”.
Plans
During the ATM Yas Island continued to enhance its yearly happenings by communicating a variety of different offerings; Ferrari World Abu Dhabi announced their plans to move towards a 7-day operational model later this year, FLASH Entertainment announced that British music legends Depeche Mode, will close-out the 2013 race weekend with a show-stopping After-Race Concert at the du Arena and Yas Marina Circuit introduced their expansive Yas Pass upgrade, providing regular and premium access to the F1 as well as two other Yas Island attractions including, Ferrari World Abu Dhabi and Yas Waterworld.
With plans well under way for the Yas Marina expansion project, and the Yas Mall opening scheduled for the first half of 2014, the island is gearing up towards becoming the regions’ most desired business and leisure address.
