Rezidor to manage luxury hotel in Abu Dhabi
Brussels-based Rezidor Hotel Group said it will manage its first luxury brand Regent in Abu Dhabi.
Dubai: Brussels-based Rezidor Hotel Group said it will manage its first luxury brand Regent in Abu Dhabi.
The $175-million Regent Emirates Pearl is scheduled to open in 2010.
The project is owned by the UAE's Atlas Group and is a joint venture project with the Tourism Development and Investment Company (TDIC), the company charged with developing assets of the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority.
It will be located on the southwest of the city's corniche. The hotel will have 365 rooms and 70 furnished apartments.
The 47-storey silhouette of twisting glass is designed by Austrian architect Dennis Lems.
Jean-Marc Busato, area vice-president of Rezidor, said, "Abu Dhabi is a welcome addition to our expanding UAE portfolio and our aim is to have a presence in each emirate within the next five years."
"We are positive that this property will be very well received by the upscale business and leisure traveller," said Ahmad Seddiq Al Mutawaa, president of Atlas Group.
The property will have an exclusive beach club with private beach access, an indoor and outdoor swimming pool, health club and a spa.
Regent Hotels currently has a total of six properties worldwide.
