Initial stages of MGM Grand Abu Dhabi underway

Abu Dhabi: Mubadala Development Company (Mubadala) announced on Tuesday that the MGM Grand Abu Dhabi, developed by MGM Mirage Hospitality will be located at Mina Zayed, Abu Dhabi.
The project will comprise both leisure and entertainment facilities and will form part of a 150-acre urban waterfront redevelopment that is a major element in Abu Dhabi's plans to become a world-class tourism destination.
The design and planning stages of the project are already underway, construction will commence in 2009, with phase one of the master plan opening in 2012.
The first phase of the waterfront master plan will comprise the entertainment and convention districts, including the MGM Grand Abu Dhabi hotel, convention centre and arena on a 40-acre plot at Mina Zayed.
