Abu Dhabi: The Emirates Palace Hotel has been successful in marketing the luxury property to the leisure and business travel market in the US, according to Hans Olbertz, the hotel's general manager.
The hotel recently held a series of roadshows in major US cities with the aim of promoting the hotel.
These events, which took place in New York, Washington, Chicago and Los Angeles, were attended by Reto Witwer, President and General Manager of Kempinski Hotels, and have received an overwhelming response.
"Witwer has presided over talks with a number of leading tourism players in the US,'' Olbertz said.
According Olbertz, the US travel and tourism officials have welcomed the increase in direct flights from the US to the UAE. He said Etihad Airways was also planning more flights in future.
"CEOs of travel and tourism companies in major US cities were satisfied with the tourism facilities, infrastructure and incentives in the UAE," Olbertz said.
