Etisalat to showcase CSR projects at summit

Conference aims to promote development at grassroots level

Abu Dhabi: The heads of corporate social responsibility (CSR) from several Etisalat operations all over the world are travelling to Dubai to present their projects and engage with stakeholders at IIR Middle East’s 10th annual CSR Summit.

During the conference, which is also sponsored by Etisalat, the telco group will exhibit its high-impact projects including Mobile Baby (Tanzania), Emirates Energy Star (UAE) and the Etisalat Foundation (Egypt). Three of the company’s senior officials will also address the conference and share Etisalat’s experience at aligning CSR with corporate strategy and measuring impact and implementing international standards.

“CSR is at the heart of Etisalat strategy, we are partnering with the summit as we are in alignment with its goals and objectives” said Ahmad Bin Ali, the senior vice president of Etisalat’s corporate communications.

Bin Ali said CSR is important for Etisalat because it “helps our international teams to become a significant force for good and catalyst for positive change in their local communities.”

The event will include two days of presentations, networking activities, interactive round tables and panel discussions. It will feature initiatives to promote the development of CSR at grassroots level, the presentation of a Middle East CSR and sustainability survey and a 360-degree perspective on CSR and sustainability in the region, with insights from corporations, public sector institutions, non-governmental organisations and foundations.

Etisalat has 141 million customers in 15 countries in the Middle East, Africa and Asia.
