Dubai: Optoma's newest gadget at this year's Gitex doesn't allow you to download the latest videos or surf the web.
However, the hand-held device will allow users to turn any surface, preferably a flat one, into a 32-inch monitor.
The device is called the Pico, which Optoma is billing as the world's smallest projector. It doesn't provide high-definition video, but the device can be connected to video players, such as the iPod and mobile phones. Users simply have to turn it on and aim it at a wall to watch their favourite videos.
While the device may sound like a toy, Adam Dent, Optoma's regional director, said the device has a number of business uses.
The unit is expected to sell for Dh1,500, and has a lamp life of around 20,000 hours.
