The freelance market is booming globally and there are more than 12 million people out there working as freelancers, Morten Lund, co-founder of CodersTrust, told Gulf News.
He said the market is expected to touch 160 million by 2020.
“The freelance market in Dubai is small right now but it is expected to grow in the next 12-18 months. I see young Emirati teens take up jobs even as receptionist when compared to 10 years ago when I came here,” he said.
“I am going for a Nobel Prize here. If we can take a million people through this platform, we are going to change the world,” Lund said.
“We have got $2 million from the Danish Development Fund Danida and many of my friends are eager to invest in CodersTrust. We are raising another $2.5 million now and hoping to raise another $15 million before Christmas,” he said.
“We are looking at other markets like Pakistan, India and Africa. We have offices in Denmark and Bangladesh and hope to open 15 offices before Christmas,” he said.
