Dubai: Givori, a UAE-based company specialising in luxury accessories for mobile phones, launched its second limited edition of the year — Aurelia collection handset. This iPhone 4S is enveloped in freshwater alligator skin and specially treated with 24-carat solid embellishments. The navigation button is made of 0.2 carat brown diamond.
The meticulously handcrafted iPhone 4S 64GB is priced at just Dh29,850 and available at Harvey Nichols.
“We have crafted 55 pieces globally and target a specific type of customers who enjoys purchasing luxury products and who likes to have the most up-to-date style items in their hands. Our limited-edition product is being targeted to an audience who are able to spend on such items,” Nader Mikhail, regional business development manager at Givori, told Gulf News.
He said each phone is crafted by hand and the design team draws on expertise from such varied fields as architecture, graphic design, jewellery and model-making.
Stuart Hughes, the British jeweler known for his expensive remakes of popular gadgets, has created the costliest iPhone ever with a price tag of $9.4 million in 2011. Officially it is the world’s most expensive phone. In 2010, he also created a diamond-clad iPhone 4 with a price tag of roughly $8 million for a American Businessman.
“We will be launching our third handcrafted collection on Nokia 8800 with alligator skin and gold plated in the middle of September. It will be priced at Dh22,000 and 50 pieces will be made globally,” he said.
The company registered a 30 per cent growth last year and expects 20 per cent this year.
“We are planning to form alliances with more fashion stores in the UAE, Kuwait, Qatar and Saudi Arabia to boost sales,” Mikhail said.
