Dubai: Technology retailer, Jumbo Electronics, has registered a 50 per cent increase in laptop sales in the first three days of Gitex Shopper, as thousands of shoppers continued to throng their stand for special offers.
"We have had a fantastic response from shoppers," said J.P. Nambiar, Head of Retail at Jumbo Electronics. "As the leading technology retailer, and as the pioneer and largest exhibitor at Gitex Shopper, we are quite excited by our performance so far.
"The Jumbo stand has become such a big hit mainly because of the first ever promotion of giving away two free laptops every hour for a lucky shopper and the convenience of shopping for ones fav-ourite brands."
Feeling confident
The free laptop offer is part of Jumbo's Gitex promotion, offering shoppers the opportunity to win up to Dh1 million in prizes. Jumbo is giving away a total of 138 laptops.
Additionally, every customer who makes a purchase will be assured of a bundle prize package. Shoppers spending a minimum of Dh500 at the Jumbo stalls and select Jumbo stores during Gitex Shopper are entitled to a raffle coupon for the hourly draw for the laptops.
"We have witnessed a 40 per cent increase in the number of visitors to the Jumbo stand in the first three days with sales of laptops alone recording a 50 per cent increase compared to the same period last year," said Nambiar.
"Going by the brisk sales, we are confident of doing even better in the remaining days."
