Dubai: The Prime Minister's Office, under the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs, unveiled the UAE government performance management systems at Gitex Technology Week.
An electronic integrated system, Adaa is set up to ensure effective implementation of federal government entity strategies and also to ascertain accountability within the federal government.
Ohood Al Roumi, executive director of the office, spoke to Gulf News about Adaa, the Arabic word for 'performance'.
"This system is very useful for decision makers because it provides them with accurate and timely data about the performance of the ministries and the level of customer satisfaction so that corrective measures can be taken to enhance services provided to the public," Al Roumi said.
Fully Arabised, the system can be accessed through the internet with three interfaces.
There is a general interface for all users, main interface only for the viewing of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and the Ruler of Dubai, and also a customised interface for each entity.
Speaking of the benefits that come with the system, Al Roumi said, "Each minister is accountable for the performance of his ministry and His Highness can compare the performance of different ministries."
Roumi said that the PM's Office is planning to enter pilot products also at the department and sections level. She said that this roll out will be completed by 2010. Currently, 36 ministries across the UAE are using the system.
