Dubai: Fujairah Municipality is at Gitex Technology Week 2012 for the very first time showcasing 3D programme about the emirate, besides launching 16 new e-services.

“The aim of Fujairah Municipality of participating in Gitex this year is to raise awareness about the emirate and to emphasise the services available from the department of Health and Environment, building, planning licence, GIS, IT and others,” Mohammad Saif Al Afkham, Director General of Fujairah Municipality, told Gulf News on Tuesday.

“Gitex is a very important technical platform where experience and best practices meet together. And it is a chance for us to participate and share this experience.”

The municipality provides a number of services through its various technical, administrative and support departments to the people living in the emirate and its visitors, he added.

“The 3D programme gives comprehensive information about the emirate which will be very useful to public, tourist and investors who are keen to look at Fujairah’s potential,” according to Al Afkham.

Further, the Municipality has launched 16 e-services — all related to the Land Department under the municipality. “Fujairah is seeing rapid growth as its develops its infrastructure and we have to meet this by boosting our services, which contribute in building an integrated environment,” said Al Afkham, adding that the municipality is doing its best to provide services that “meet the needs of citizens, promote the business prosperity and entrepreneurship development in Fujairah”.
