Finding software the easy way
Downloaded widgets make searching for the right applications less time consuming.
Finding the latest and greatest web or computer application can be a problem. You're not going to find it at the mall, but searching for one online often takes a lot of time and patience.
Wakoopa.com aims to help internet users with their searching by offering a list of the most used applications for PCs, Macs and the web.
How the site determines what is "most used" makes this site stand apart. Users download a widget that tracks your application usage and then adds that information to Wakoopa. For those squeamish about having a programme that tracks what you do, Wakoopa has several features that allow users to determine how their data is used. You can even delete it outright.
When you look at usage data on Wakoopa, you are shown a running total of how often the site is used by all users. For example, Facebook, which is listed as the top website on Wakoopa, has 7,896 users that have been on the site for a grand total of four years, eight months, four weeks as of January 22. Users can also search for sites and applications by name or category, as well as an operating system.
