Gulf Craft's super-yacht, the Majesty
Built using latest fibreglass techniques, Majesty is set to cost $12m
Dubai: Gulf Craft, the UAE-based luxury boat builder, yesterday revealed its Majesty 125-foot super-yacht, which will be launched in May.
The four deck super-yacht will become the world's largest yacht constructed using the latest vacuum infused fibreglass techniques, officials said. Manufactured at its shipyard in Umm Al Quwain, the list price of the yacht is set at $12 million (Dh44.04 million). Participating in the Dubai International Boat Show that begins today, the manufacturer will display 14 of its craft.
Erwin Bamps, chief operating officer, said that 20 to 30 per cent of the company's annual turnover is a result of clients attending the boat show.
The manufacturer currently has an order book of about 160 boats, with 15 to 20 per cent comprising yachts.
Last year, the builder delivered about 400 boats in mid-crisis from orders taken during 2008 and 2009. It is expecting a similar number of sales this year with the return of client confidence, according to Bamps.
