Dubai Dry Docks extension marks a new era, says Mohammad

Dubai: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, yesterday inaugurated the new extension of Dubai Dry Docks.
"The UAE has entered a new phase of development with the building and commissioning of giant ships and oil tankers in Dubai Dry Docks," Shaikh Mohammad said. The extension will see a fifth dry dock added to the existing ones.
Shaikh Mohammad acquainted himself with the ship building mechanism at the new dock, and was briefed by Sultan Ahmad Bin Sulayem, Chairman of DP World, on the project.
Shaikh Mohammad also inspected container berths and handling operations at Port Rashid before heading to Dubai Maritime City (DMC), where the new Jadaf Dubai is located. He ordered the swift shifting of the old Jadaf to the new facility in Maritime City.
