Dubai: The layout of Legoland Dubai, part of Dubai Parks and Resorts, was unveiled to thousands of local and international visitors attending the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2015 with a unique four-metre squared Lego-built model map.
Delegates enjoyed an exclusive 3D preview experience of the park’s features as Legoland Dubai unveiled the model, designed and built over 1,600 hours using 150,000 Lego bricks, and featuring augmented reality.
Using augmented reality activated by iPads, visitors can navigate their way through the Park’s six world-famous themed areas, including Lego City, Adventure, Lego Kingdom, Imagination, Factory, and the ever popular magical Miniland.
The Park, which will be operated by Merlin Entertainments, Europe’s number one visitor attractions operator, is set to open in October 2016 as part of Dubai Parks and Resorts.
The Park spans three million square feet and features over 40 interactive rides, shows and attractions and 15,000 Lego model structures made from more than 60 million Lego bricks.
Located close to the Palm Jebel Ali, the Park becomes the Middle East’s first Legoland, and the seventh in the world.
Siegfried Boerst, General Manager of Legoland Dubai said they are delighted to have unveiled the Lego model to ATM 2015 visitors.
“This is the perfect platform for us to unveil the Park’s layout and key features as a precursor to the positive impact we expect Legoland Dubai to have on the UAE’s flourishing leisure and tourism scene.”
