Dubai: Etisalat is again slashing the prices of a number of electronic gadgets, including Apple’s iPhone X and Samsung’s S8 plus, and shoppers can save up to Dh1,450 on every purchase.

Only about a week after its previous bargain offer ended, the telecommunications firm announced on February 7 that its “Device Sale” is back, and those who are looking to upgrade their phones can enjoy discounts of up to 60 per cent off the normal price.

Etisalat has knocked down the cost of the popular iPhoneX, now priced at Dh3,769, while Samsung Galaxy S8+, along with a VR3 gear, can be had for Dh2,549, which can translate to a saving of Dh600.

One of the heavily discounted products, HTC M10 smartphone is up for grabs for only Dh949, offering a buyer Dh1,450 in savings.

Etisalat had earlier offered up to 60 discount on a number of electronic devices during a similar promotion that ended last January 31.

The UAE market has a huge appetite for mobile phones, especially Android and iPhone models.

As of June 2017, almost nine in ten handsets registered on the local networks were smartphones.

According to the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA), Samsung continues to dominate the market, with 34.5 per cent of all handsets registered on mobile networks carrying the South Korean label, as of the second quarter of 2017.

Nokia handsets were the second-most popular manufacturer, with a presence of 22.9 per cent, followed by Apple, with a share of 15.5 per cent, Lenovo (5.4 per cent) and Huawei (3.2 per cent).
