Dubai: The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) continues to develop its projects by completing, installing, and launching substations across Dubai.
Dewa is working to increase the efficiency, accountability and capacity of its electricity transmission network, at a capacity of 400 kilovolts (kV), using advanced international technology.
This is a major part of the transmission process. Saeed Mohammad Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO of Dewa, announced the completion, installation and inauguration of the 400 kV Series Reactor, in addition to a number of other projects, in Jebel Ali, worth a total investment of Dh79 million. This will be operational in 2018.
“Dewa’s ongoing efforts aim to improve its transmission, distribution, and electricity systems and services, to meet the needs of customers, developers and other sectors, based on the highest standards of availability, accountability, efficiency, and safety. In 2015, there were a total of 20 substations, spanning over 1,120 kilometres,” said Al Tayer.
